Simonne Reynolds (Spooner) | FACP

Director/Specialist Sports Physiotherapist

Simonne is our practice principal at SpoonerSpecialist Physiotherapy.  She knew she wanted to be a Sports Physio at the age of 14, and in her Year 12 Leaving Book stated her goal was to be the Wallabies Physio. Her dream has come true working with rugby union her entire career.  She is currently the Head Physiotherapist for Eastwood Rugby Union and was the physio for the Australian Women’s Rugby Union Team for 6 years, including the2008 Seven’s World Champions.

Having completed her exams in May 2013, Simonne graduated from the Australian College of Physiotherapists as a Specialist Sports Physio, one of only 46 in Australia.

SHANNON BELOE

SENIOR Physiotherapist

Shannon joined the SSP team in July this year, having returned home from living and working in Wollongong for the past two years.  
Shannon undertook her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the Australian Catholic University.  She has always had a strong passion for helping people to achieve their goals and this grew into a passion for human movement, and now, her aspirations to become a Titled Sports Physiotherapist.
Shannon has worked closely with AFL since 2015 and was the Head Physiotherapist for Balmain AFL Club. This year, she will be working alongside the Hunters Hill Women’s Rugby Team.  
She enjoys playing tennis, swimming and waterpolo, and has a talent for photography, as well as sewing and designing clothes when not honing her physio skills.

LAUREN STEIN

Physiotherapist

Fondly known as Loz, we welcomed her to our team in June.  Growing up in Lindfield and educated at Ravenswood she sought a country change and completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in Orange.  
Loz played soccer for Sydney Uni and CIS through school and made various NSW teams, competing in State Titles.  She also played Futsal and won Nationals representing NSW.  Playing at an elite level ensured too much time spent on the physio bed, which inspired her to one day become, and be able to spell the word ‘physiotherapist’.
Lauren worked for the first 6 months this year in Forster, before moving back to Sydney and joining the SSP team.  She will be looking after our Hunters Hill Rugby boys this season.

MEG TYLER

RECEPTIONIST

With her father a legend of Eastwood Rugby, Meg practically grew up at TG Millner Field. Having known Simonne all her life, Meg joined our reception team in 2019.  She graduated from Mt St Benedict’s College in 2018, and will begin her Bachelor ofHuman Science Degree (Majoring in Human Movement) and has a dream of studying the Doctor of Physiotherapy at its completion. She will be joining Simonne, Tara and Em on the sidelines of Eastwood Rugby this season.

EM CRAIG

RECEPTIONIST

Em lives on the sunny Central Coast with her husband Ed Craig who plays first grade for Eastwood.  Em met Simonne observing one of Ed’s appointments in 2017, and then completed a university placement with Simonne and Tara at Eastwood, where Simonne was so impressed she offered her a job, both as a receptionist and physio assistant with Eastwood.   We are thrilled that Em will be studying physio at Newcastle this year, and pursuing her passion of becoming a sports physiotherapist.

Samantha Assaf

RECEPTIONIST

Sam is one of the newest members of our team –discovering SSP through her sister, Rebecca who is a physiotherapist and studied with Tara at Sydney University. Having always being interested in diet related aspect of health from a young age, she is currently completing a bachelor of science majoring in nutrition and metabolism. Her passion is to help people create a healthy lifestyle through nutritious but enjoyable meals.We look forward to Sam cooking heathy lunches for us soon! Sam enjoys travelling and doing Sydney’s coastal walks in her free time, with Greece and the Hermitage Foreshore walk in Vaucluse being her favourite locations!

MADDY BENTON

RECEPTIONIST

Maddy joined our reception team in August this year.  She finished Year 12 at Loreto in 2018 and spent a Gap Year in England last year.  She is currently studying Exercise and Sports Science at UTS and is part of all the all conquering Woodies 7’s Rugby Women’s team alongside Meg.  She is keen to learn strapping under the tutelage of Simonne and assist with the rugby teams on Saturdays.

Em Craig

Physiotherapist

Em’s been a part of the SSP team for the last 4 years as a receptionist, and now as a physio in 2021!
Em grew up watching rugby union and has aspired to be the physio for the Australian Wallabies ever since her high school NSW representative days.
She undertook a bachelor of Human sciences at Macquarie University, and Met Simonne whilst observing one of her then Boyfriend, now Husband Ed’s appointments in 2017, quickly getting involved in physiotherapy assistance work with Simonne at Eastwood Rugby.

Em completed her Masters of physiotherapy at UTS in 2020, and is still a key member of the Eastwood Rugby Physio team pursuing her passion of becoming a titled sports Physiotherapist.
