You might’ve heard our physios at SSP talk about manual therapy and wondered what that means!
Maybe you’ve heard the debate about manual therapy vs exercise?
Manual therapy refers to passive techniques that a therapist uses to help reduce pain in patients to allow them to move better. This umbrella refers to things such as muscle nervy techniques, joint mobilisations, manipulation, soft tissue mobilisation, some stretching techniques and mobilisations with movements.
Last weekend, our physio Jess attended The Manual to Great Therapy course run by James Schomburgk and Kieran Richardson to expand her knowledge on all things manual therapy.
At SSP, we believe that manual therapy is an efficient way to break the cycle of pain to get you moving better. Our physio’s use manual therapy combined with education and exercise to get you the best possible outcomes.
Why not both!
